The third edition of Shop Bahrain, a 30-day retail festival organised in collaboration with Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, was deemed a great success with around 130,000 transactions made, compared to 2016's figure of 60,000, worth a total of BHD8 million (USD21.22 million).

During the first week, there was a seven percent boost in visitors, while throughout the event, the number of shoppers peaked at 48,611, including more than 20,000 non-Bahraini visitors, a year-on-year rise of 2,000.

Furthermore, local four- and five-star hotels also achieved an income of BHD9 million (USD23.87 million) during the event, while occupancy across the serviced apartments sector reached 73 percent.
