The Mickey Mouse sculpture – created following a new licensing deal between Dubai Miracle Garden and The Walt Disney Company – also earned the UAE attraction its third Guinness World Record title.
The sculpture feature is Disney’s first Middle East character floral display and was made from almost 100,000 plants and flowers, including; White Petunia, Red Petunia, White Geranium, Yellow Viola, Zinnia Marigold and Green Alternanthera.
Unveiled on February 26, it weighs close to 35 tonnes and is supported by a seven tonne steel structure with a 50-tonne reinforced concrete foundation.
Further Disney characters are planned for November when Dubai Miracle Garden reopens for the winter season.
