A further 12 properties have now been awarded this prestigious stamp, confirming their own commitment to upholding internationally-recognised standards of health & safety in order to reduce the risk of COVID-19.
These further steps are helping to cement Eswatini’s position as a safe and welcoming destination at a time when interest in travel is growing, in light of vaccines being distributed and international entry regulations being relaxed again.
Eswatini was the first full country in southern Africa to be awarded the WTTC Safe Travels Stamp, based on its robust set of COVID-prevention protocols established by the Eswatini Tourism Authority in conjunction with the Eswatini Ministry of Health, the World Health Organisation and the UN. The Kingdom also subsequently obtained the Safer Tourism Seal.
After the first few recipients were announced in late October, 2020, ETA is now pleased to confirm that the following have all been awarded the stamp:
Hilton Garden Inn Mbabane
Happy Valley Hotel
The George Hotel
Simunye Country Club
Reilly’s Rock Guest House
Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary
Mountain Inn Hotel
Kamsholo Bushveld Safaris
Hlane Royal National Park
The accreditation process is on-going but the list already covers a diverse range of accommodation options across the country, from large upmarket hotels, through mid-market family run lodges to backpacker establishments – as well as a choice of safari locations. To encourage travel, members of Eswaitni’s tourism industry are also currently offering a arrange of special discounts and have been developing new and exciting products.
