Overall, the market has seen a small amount of growth with a total of 4,423,165 arrivals thus far this year.
This marks a 2.7 percent increase in the year-to-date numbers – relief following April’s decline.
The top five countries and their percentage difference between May 2017 and May this year are the US (down three percent), the UK (down eight percent), Germany (down four percent), France (up six percent) and India (down 12 percent).
During an interview with David Frost, CEO, SATSA, Derek Hanekom, minister, tourism, South Africa, said, “2018 is not going to be the year we would have liked it to have been, but 2019 is going to be a great year.”
