During the first quarter (Q1) of this year, Brussels South Charleroi Airport (BSCA) served 1,523,649 travellers, a one percent year-on-year decrease in the overall number of passengers.

While January ended with a seven percent year-on-year increase in passenger traffic, February and March recorded declines in this measure, down one percent and seven percent, respectively.

Overall, the average load factor for aircraft using the hub remained constant at around 85 percent.

Putting the results into perspective and focussing on a long-term vision for the business, Jean-Jacques Cloquet, CEO, BSCA, said, "2016 was a difficult year but it showed the potential that we have and what we can achieve through hard work and determination. [...]"
