Minsk has been visited by tourists from 68 countries visa-free with the help of Belarus’ new visa-free programme, according to Elena Plis, director, information and tourist centre, Minsk.

In January-August this year, Minsk provided tourist services worth USD69 million, up 34.1 percent from the same period a year ago.

“As of October 13, a total of 56,000 tourists from 68 countries took advantage of the visa-free entry to Belarus. The biggest numbers of tourists came from Germany, Poland, Italy, US and UK. The passenger traffic at Minsk National Airport went up by 30 percent in comparison with the same period [in 2016],” noted Plis.
