January had the highest volume of tourist arrivals ever recorded in Cyprus during the specific month.
Tourist arrivals from Israel increased by 58 percent in January compared to January 2019 while an increase of 91,9 percent was also recorded for tourists from Ukraine. Contrary to that, a decrease of 4,7 percent in tourist arrivals from the UK, 18,1 percent decrease from Greece and 4,6 percent from Russia were recorded.
The UK constitutes the main source of tourism for Cyprus for January, with a proportion of 26,1 percent while arrivals from Israel comprise 16 percent of total arrivals, from Greece 10,7 percent and from Russia 8,8 percent.
For a percentage of 57,6 percent of tourists, the purpose of their trip in January was for holidays, for 22,9 percent was to visit friends and relatives and for 19,2 percent business for business reasons.
