In the first 10 months of 2016, the upward trajectory of tourist arrivals to Cyprus continued, with a year-on-year jump of 20.3 percent, bringing the total for the period to 2,974,412.

The most notable increase was seen in travellers from Russia, Israel and Lebanon, up 50.7 percent, 48 percent and 37.9 percent, respectively.

Meanwhile, visitors from traditional markets also recorded growth during the period January – October 2016, with a 6.7 surge in tourists from Germany and a 16.1 percent rise in British travellers.

Furthermore, tourism revenue also soared to EUR1.63 million between January – September 2016, a growth of 12 percent when compared to the first nine months of 2015.
