According to STR, European hotels recorded positive performance in the first quarter (Q1) of the year, with RevPAR soaring 6.5 percent year-on-year to reach EUR64.06.Furthermore, occupancy jumped 4.1 percent compared to Q1 2016 to 63.5 percent and average daily rate (ADR) increased 2.3 percent to EUR100.94.

Addresses in Spain achieved a 7.2 percent boost in RevPAR to EUR68.06, while occupancy rose 2.3 percent to 67.5 percent and ADR reached EUR100.76, up 4.8 percent.

Meanwhile, in the UK, RevPAR surged 6.8 percent, to GBP59.12 (EUR69.95), occupancy jumped 2.6 percent to 70.6 percent, and ADR increased 4.1 percent to GBP83.73 (EUR99.07).

Baku also saw a rise in RevPAR, up 119.5 percent, along with a 74.9 percent boost in occupancy to 49.5 percent. ADR also grew 25.5 percent to AZN171.46 (EUR202.92).
