Julian Alps in Top Three Regions to Visit

Slovenia’s Julian Alps have been announced as one of the world’s top three must visit regions in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel 2018.

The Julian Alps offer alpine landscapes with over two-thirds of the region protected by the Triglav National Park. The region is home to diverse terrain including Slovenia’s highest peak Mount Triglav along with wild gorges, rivers and valleys, promoting environmentally friendly development in order to protect the biodiversity.

Anna Tyler, destination editor, Lonely Planet, said, "Once little discovered, Slovenia's spectacular Julian Alps are becoming increasingly accessible to travellers. While scenery and adventure, including hiking and rafting, are the main draws, visitors exploring this region will also find a warm welcome and delicious dining."
