Call for Tourism in Ecuador’s Manabí Province

Enrique Ponce De León, minister of tourism, Equador, visited the northern area of Manabí to offer solutions to issues following 2016's earthquake, as well as visit initiatives implemented to boost tourism.

Examples of actions already underway include the hiring of an expert architect to develop affected tourism destinations along with funding for local businesses to rebuild facilities.

Ponce De León met with tourism professionals and officials of the Reconstruction Committee in Pedernales, followed by a similar meeting in Bahía de Caráquez joint with the tourism sector.

During the trip, tourism industry stakeholders agreed on the need to work collaboratively to make the destination a tourist attraction.
