Wynn Las Vegas Introduces Solar Energy Facility

Wynn Las Vegas will power its multi-use development, Paradise Park, with 100 percent renewable energy sourced from a new 64 ha solar energy facility.

Under the terms of an agreement with Enel Green Power North America (EGPNA), the resort will begin receiving power in the first half of this year, offsetting up to 75 percent of its current peak power requirements until Paradise Park opens.

This is said to be the largest percentage of renewable energy used by any resort in Las Vegas, and an industry first for a Nevada gaming operator.

Combined with the recently installed solar panels covering 9,570 m2 of Wynn’s rooftop, Wynn Solar Facility will generate enough renewable energy to power 5,056 homes and eliminate 33,734 metric tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
