North American Hoteliers to Face Uncertainty

According to new data from TravelClick’s May 2017 North American Hospitality Review, North American hoteliers are continuing to experience stable average daily rates (ADR) alongside decreases in bookings during the second quarter of this year.

The report revealed that while the ADR from business travel and group segments were up 1.9 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively, occupancy declined 2.5 percent and 3.5 percent, correspondingly.

Meanwhile, the leisure market continued to hold strong with positive gains in ADR, up one percent, and bookings, which recorded 3.2 percent growth.

John Hach, senior industry analyst, TravelClick, confirmed that based on the latest data, the ongoing trend of inconsistency will most likely continue during the summer season.
